Detail of Calligraphic Panel

Hand carved acanthus pattern in floral bracket and border by Jay Bonner. The Al-Furqan Institute is located in a Jacobean manor house in London. This building is extensively ornamented in acanthus patterns. The decision to employ acanthus patterns with the calligraphy was to insure that the 22 linear meters of calligraphic panels would be in keeping with the rest of the historic building.
